Banana chips🤤 recipe

Making crispy banana chips at home is straightforward. Here’s a simple recipe:

### Ingredients:

- 2-3 raw bananas (preferably plantains or green bananas)

- Salt to taste

- Water

- Oil for frying

### Instructions:

1. **Preparation:**

   - Peel the bananas. To make peeling easier, cut off the ends and make a few slits along the length of the banana before removing the skin.

   - Using a mandoline slicer or a sharp knife, slice the bananas into thin, even rounds. Thinner slices result in crispier chips.

2. **Soaking:**

   - Prepare a bowl of salted water and soak the banana slices for about 10 minutes. This helps to remove excess starch and enhances the crispiness.

   - After soaking, drain the water and pat the banana slices dry using a kitchen towel or paper towels.

3. **Frying:**

   - Heat oil in a deep frying pan or pot over medium heat. The oil should be hot but not smoking (around 350°F or 175°C).

   - Carefully add a small batch of banana slices to the hot oil. Avoid overcrowding the pan, as this can lower the oil temperature and make the chips soggy.

   - Fry the banana slices until they turn golden brown and crispy, usually about 2-3 minutes. Stir occasionally to ensure even frying.

4. **Draining and Seasoning:**

   - Using a slotted spoon, remove the fried banana chips and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

   - While still hot, sprinkle the chips with a little salt. You can also add other seasonings like paprika, garlic powder, or black pepper if desired.

5. **Cooling and Storing:**

   - Allow the chips to cool completely before storing them in an airtight container. This ensures they stay crispy.

### Tips:

- For a healthier version, you can bake the banana slices. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C), place the slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, brush lightly with oil, and bake for about 15-20 minutes or until golden and crisp, flipping halfway through.

- Ensure the banana slices are uniform in thickness to achieve even frying or baking.

- You can also experiment with seasoning blends for varied flavors.

Enjoy your homemade crispy banana chips!
